Tymal Mills insists his players can’t use the schedule as an excuse anymore if Sussex Sharks fail to fulfil their potential in this year’s Vitality Blast.
The competition’s latest revamp means there will be two fewer group games and theoretically at least less travelling. The Sharks open their campaign at Chelmsford against Essex Eagles on Friday night.
No more night games at Hove, an overnight in a hotel in Slough followed by another match in Cardiff the following evening, which was part of the schedule last year when they failed to make it out of their group.
The 18 counties are now in three geographical sections with Sussex playing their south-east rivals home and away.
