Paul Farbrace promised at the start of the season that the Metro Bank One-Day Cup would be an opportunity to assess players from Sussex’s academy and he has been true to his word after Sussex confirmed three teenagers will be part of the squad.

Ollie Kirtley, an 18-year-old right arm medium fast bowler who is the son of bowling coach James Kirtley, has just finished at Eastbourne College.

Freddie Price is a 19-year-old all-rounder who has just finished at Millfield School in Somerset while Toby Munt, a 19-year-old left seam bowler, was at BACA and went on their exchange deal to New Zealand in the winter.
