Sussex will announce a new chair at the start of next week.

That will have an immediate knock-on effect, with the futures of director of cricket Paul Farbrace and interim chief executive Mark West to be decided, as well as that of a number of key players.

The search for a new chair has been led by Nigel Brewster, a partner at McBride Sport, a recruitment specialist whose website says the company “focus on sports, entertainment, and events organisations and all aspects of their executive, non-executive, and senior level hires.

“In a world where mediocrity reigns, McBride Sport have built a reputation for fresh thinking, authenticity, accountability and being.”
