Sussex have enjoyed the first dividend from the appointment of Ed Warner after Paul Farbrace agreed to stay as director of cricket following a 90-minute discussion with the new chairman on Friday.
Farbrace, who has been at Hove since 2023, will go part-time in November, working two days a week in the winter and three days in the summer.
But he will leave the job of working with the players on a day-to-day basis to the new head coach whom Sussex hope to have in place by the end of July.
Interviews are due to start in the next few days and Farbrace will be part of the panel who will make the appointment. He says he favours someone with plenty of coaching experience.
