They may have been rival coaches at Hove at the weekend, but Paul Farbrace and Glamorgan’s Richard Dawson – who Farbrace rates highly – agreed on one thing: James Coles has a talent that could take him a long way in the game.
Coles’ unbeaten 224 in Sussex’s innings win helped his side claim their fourth Championship victory of the season.
Farbrace, of course, has long been a fan of the 22-year-old who recognised his talent as soon as he joined Sussex in 2023 and quickly brought him into the side.
