Sussex’s new chairman Ed Warner faces the media for the first time since he was appointed more than a month ago on Friday - and no doubt he will be asked just how depleted the playing squad will be next season.
The county’s playing budget of around £2m has to be slashed by around £400k and already Henry Crocombe, Tom Alsop and Fynn Hudson-Prentice have opted to move on at the end of the season.
Two - Crocombe and Hudson-Prentice - were out of contract but the futures of the other five whose deals expire then has still not been officially confirmed by the club. Tom Clark was also out of contract but he has signed a new one-year contract.
