George Thomas determined to make the most of his belated Blast opportunity

It might just be George Thomas time at Edgbaston on Wednesday, as the Sussex Sharks batting all-rounder stands by to make his first appearance in this season’s Vitality Blast competition.
Thomas is included in a 15-man squad to take on Birmingham Bears in a must-win game, and without the injured Tom Clark and James Coles, who has joined up with England’s T20 squad for the series against India, he has a good chance of playing. He appeared in four T20 games for the Sharks at the end of the last season.
He told Hove and Away: “I’ve been in the T20 squad a few times without playing this season. Obviously, this time we’re missing Colesy, who is away with England, and there are a few injuries, so hopefully this is going to be my chance.”
