Sussex have completed the rebuilding of the senior management team at Hove by appointing Beth Barrett-Wild as their chief executive.

She will replace Mark West who left last month after nine months when he helped steady the ship after Sussex revealed losses of £1.33m and were put in special measures by the ECB.

There won’t have been many candidates - if any - with as much cricket experience as Barrett-Wild, who officially starts in the role on 1 January.

She has worked for the ECB for 13 years and has been a key figure in the growth of the women’s game.
