The most successful bowler in Blast history will combine playing and coaching role as he starts his second spell at Sussex.

Danny Briggs, the most successful bowler in the history of the T20 Blast, with 266 wickets, is looking forward to combining playing with coaching responsibilities on his return to Hove this year.

Briggs, 34, who previously played for Sussex between 2016-2020, has rejoined the club on a three-year deal. And he has become a key member of the club’s coaching staff, in addition to aiming to strengthen the side’s attack in the Vitality T20 Blast.

“I’m a qualified coach and I look forward to gaining more experience in that area with Sussex,” he says.

“Back in the day, when the T20 started, people thought that spin might be a bad option. But we certainly proved them wrong.
