Paul Farbrace hopes the ECB will not be ‘restrictive’ if Sussex opt to add to their diminshed bowling resources by using the loan market.

Sussex wrapped up a 222-run win over Leicestershire in their opening Rothesay County Championship match on Monday to wipe out the 12-point deduction imposed by the governing body in January after the extent of their financial mismanagement became apparent.

But news of injuries to new signings Dom Goodman and Sean Hunt overshadowed what has been a very encouraging start to the season.

Goodman will be out for three months with a fractured rib while an old elbow injury has flared up and Hunt may need surgery and faces at least six weeks on the sidelines.
