Sussex have been careful to manage Sean Hunt’s workload this season and it looks as if it’s paying dividends.
On a day when 20 wickets fell at Edgbaston, no one performed better than the left-armer who took 4 for 30 to drag his side back into a game that appeared to be slipping away from them in 45 dramatic minutes at the start of day two.
That’s how long it took Sussex, who resumed on 99 for 3, to lose five wickets for three runs in 17 balls.
Chris Woakes, who knows more than anyone how to take advantage when the Edgbaston pitch is this promiscuous, was almost unplayable.
