Jofra Archer and Gus Atkinson did a lengthy stint in the nets at Hove on Friday under the watchful eye of England’s bowling coach Troy Cooley.
It was an interesting sideshow to the main event as Sussex took control against Glamorgan on day one of their County Championship match.
Atkinson has been banned for one Test after the nightclub incident which left Ben Stokes’ future as England captain in doubt.
Archer will take his place at the Oval where he could share the new ball with Ollie Robinson and form an all-Sussex England opening attack for the first time since Maurice Tate and Arthur Gilligan more than a century ago.
