Tom Alsop becomes third Sussex player who will leave at the end of the season

The 30-year-old has joined second division Gloucestershire and will leave Sussex at the end of the season. He has signed for three years at Bristol - a contract-length Sussex won't be offering to anyone during these straitened times.

Earlier this month Henry Crocombe announced he would be leaving to join Surrey while Fynn Hudson-Prentice is moving to Hampshire, also in time for 2027. They are three of the players out of contract at the end of the season. Another, wicketkeeper John Simpson, has been lined up by Nottinghamshire to become their new wicketkeeper-batsman. Alsop's contract was due to expire at the end of 2027.
