Sussex take a breather from their frenetic and largely frustrating Vitality Blast campaign to re-enter the calmer waters of the County Championship at Hove against Glamorgan on Friday.
Even though his plans are once again compromised by injuries, director of cricket Paul Farbrace is up for the challenge. “I’m excited by the game against Glamorgan,” he said after supervising practice at the County Ground.
“The great thing is we have two home games against Glamorgan and Hampshire. We have two successive weeks at home with no concerns about travelling.”
The good news is that Sussex will welcome back their skilful Indian seamer Jaydev Unadkat, who impressed with 22 wickets in five games at the end of the 2024 season and returned last year to claim 16 wickets in three matches at 17.25 to push his side to a top four finish in the table.
