Sussex on track for a top-three finish but there is still room for improvement

Six games played - three wins, two draws and one defeat. Sussex should be pretty happy with their County Championship performances after the first block of six matches finds them fifth in a congested table but only 12 points below leaders Nottinghamshire, who they only play once this season in the final home game of the season in September.
They would be top based on more wins were it not for the 12-point deduction which they will be carrying around for the rest of the season and which might still be the difference between a strong top-half finish and a tilt at the title.
