Sussex have signed the South African Kent seamer Keith Dudgeon on a two-year contract, as exclusively predicted by Hove and Away in August.

Dudgeon, 30, played in 13 of Kent’s 14 County Championship Division Two matches last season, as the side won promotion to the top tier. He was the second highest wicket-taker behind Matt Milnes with 42 at 32.09. He also scored 368 runs in 20 innings with a best score of 44 and an average of 19.36.

Overall, he has taken 281 first-class wickets at an average of 29.96 and scored 1,846 runs at 18.83. But, as at Kent, Sussex will regard him as a multi-format player.
