Sussex Sharks’ Vitality Blast campaign could effectively be over by the halfway point unless they can win their two home games this weekend.
They have just two points from four matches after a 29-run defeat at the Utilita Bowl on Tuesday to a Hampshire side with four wins out of four and now a very distant 14 points ahead of Sussex in the South Group standings.
Sussex were rightly criticised by director of cricket Paul Farbrace for a poor performance against Middlesex at Hove on Saturday.
