Freddie Price has signed a rookie contract with Sussex for next season but George Thomas will be leaving to join Worcestershire at the end of the summer.
Price, 19, a bowling all-rounder and a former pupil at Millfield School in Somerset, impressed on a number of occasions while making six appearances in the Metro Bank One Day Cup this summer.
He was one of three teenagers added to the squad from Sussex’s academy earlier in the summer when director of cricket Paul Farbrace took the opportunity to assess some of his younger players in the competition.
The others were Ollie Kirtley, 18, a fast bowler from Eastbourne College and the son of bowling coach James Kirtley, and Toby Munt, a 19-year-old left-armer who has attended BACA.
