Mark West to leave chief executive's role at the end of the season

In the meantime, non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committee Alex Paterson will become acting chief executive on a full-time basis with Sussex hoping to appoint a new CEO by November.

West will depart with the best wishes of everyone involved with Sussex.

He stepped in at the start of the year after the extent of the club’s financial issues became apparent. He has stabilised financial controls and has been a steady hand during a period of flux behind the scenes, not least the appointment in July of new chairman Ed Warner.
