Director of cricket Paul Farbrace admits he ‘feels a huge weight of responsibility’ as the job of reshaping - and reducing - the size of Sussex’s professional squad for 2027 onwards begins.
Sussex have been told to trim £400k from their playing budget as part of the special measures imposed by the ECB in March. The county will have to make total savings of £1m after losing £1.33m in the last financial year.
The financial meltdown overshadowed pre-season but was pushed into the background when the season started in April.
