Joey Evison goes straight into the Sussex team for Thursday’s crucial County Championship fixture at Hove with Somerset determined to show supporters what he is capable of.
Evison, 24, told Hove and Away: “I’ve got a maximum of five games to show Sussex why they signed me, to show them what I’m made of, and I plan to take that opportunity.”
Immediately after the announcement that the Kent all-rounder would be joining Sussex on loan for the rest of the season, ahead of a permanent move to Hove next year, he was fast-tracked into the side for a testing debut against a team tilting for their first ever Championship.
