‘Ultimate professional’ Tom Haines is ready to take a big step forward in his career this season, according to Paul Farbrace.

It will be ten years this August since Haines, 27, made his Susses debut in a Championship match against Kent. A fifth-ball duck in the first innings partnering Chris Nash and 11 in the second dig were hardly the most auspicious of starts.

But Haines goes into 2027 on the back of a successful winter leading England Lions and very much in the conversation to play Test cricket this summer. All being well he should also play his 100th first-class match too.

It’s all down to hard work, according to Farbrace.
