It says something about what has happened to Sussex in T20 this season that skipper Tymal Mills described Wednesday’s eight-wicket defeat to Surrey at the Kia Oval as one of their better performances.
And there certainly were a few positives, although the bar was pretty low after eight defeats in the last nine.
George Thomas’s 57 in only his third appearance this season was instrumental in helping Sussex make 176 for 7.
