Sussex have announced the departure of five more players, bringing the total who are leaving to ten.

Daniel Hughes, Harrison Ward, Brad Currie, Troy Henry and Nantes Oosthuizen join Henry Crocombe, Tom Alsop, Fynn Hudson-Prentice, George Thomas and John Simpson while Danny Lamb has retired on medical grounds.

Director of cricket Paul Farbrace admitted last month that he still hoped to keep Hughes, but the Australian opening bat, who has been Sussex’s overseas player for the last three years, will not be returning.

His loss will be keenly felt, not least the experience he brings to the dressing room.
