Sussex journey into the unknown when they take on Essex at Chelmsford in the County Championship on Wednesday.
The last time they travelled to New Writtle Street for a Championship game was 26 years ago, when the country was awash with millennium celebrations and everyone was scared their computers would crash.
James Kirtley and Robin Martin-Jenkins were the most successful bowlers as Essex sank to 140 for 8, before Ricky Anderson made a half century and Tony Cottey scored 154 for Sussex in a rain ravaged draw.
You have to go back to 1996 - 30 years ago - for Sussex’s last Championship win there when Ian Salisbury took 8 for 75 in Essex’s second-innings run chase with his leggies.
