Garry Sobers is the GOAT - but his record against Sussex was pretty modest

I had the same feeling when the great Garry Sobers died last month, 11 days short of what would have been his 90th birthday.

And again last week when the Right Excellent Sir Garfield St. Auburn Sobers was finally laid to rest following a state funeral in his beloved Barbados.

What has Sobie ever done for me? Because Garry the GOAT was more like Larry the Lamb when he played against Sussex, only seldom showing the genius that made him – in the opinion of many fine judges – the greatest cricketer of all time.
